GIRL!!! Adrian and I are over the moon happy. She was moving around and kicking me like crazy on the ultrasound monitor. What a little show off! It was a wonderful day yesterday, we spent the afternoon registering for the baby showers and went out to dinner at our favorite cafe to celebrate. I can’t believe in August she will be here with us! Today, I am in full blown nursery planning mode. Here’s a pic of the crib bedding that I love. I ordered some fabric swatches to confirm. What do you all think?

This is so random and weird but I thought I would share. I have become obsessed with making Italian sodas for the last week. I mean crazy obsessed! I will probably gain five pounds at my next OB appointment just in liquid volume. I hold the baby totally responsible since it has hijacked my hormones and taste buds. In case you have never experienced the divine goodness of an Italian soda, I will share! Go to a store like Cost Plus World Market (or any specialty market) and buy a big ‘ol bottle of flavored Torani syrup. My pick is cherry. Then buy some club soda and heavy whipping cream at the grocery store. Fill a glass with ice. Pour club soda into the glass until about 3/4 full. Then add enough syrup until there is like half an inch left in the glass. Add a good dollop of cream and stir. It is pure joy! I already finished my bottle of syrup, need to make a run to the store ASAP. So your homework, dear readers, is to make your own at su casa this weekend and let me know how much you love it! (PS. I would add some images but my WordPress app is still being funky. Ugh.)

The new picks are up (click on the link to the right)! I’m still getting used to this new formatting on my blog editor and boy is it annoying. I hope you’re all having great weeks so far, I am in eager anticipation of finding out my baby’s gender this coming Monday! I am so excited and I can’t wait to share the news with all my readers!

Holy cow, a whole week since my last post? Well, readers all I can say is sorry! My WordPress application was making serious errors so I had to install an update, then the update had errors and it was all way too technical for me! I had to bring in back-up and have my hubby, Adrian, fix it all for me. It’s good to have a husband who is a web developer! It’s looks like everything is back to normal so I can finally make new posts! Yippee! I am working on new shopping picks that I will have up soon. For now, go browse around at shopbop.com. Through April 3rd you can take an extra 30% off all sale items when you enter the code 30MORE at checkout. So pick out some seriously discounted designer duds and let me know what you get!

I’m back from my weekend trip to visit Adrian’s family and my cold is thankfully gone. It was a great time! His family is super huge and we were busy the entire time visiting with people. They even had a big party for us with carne asada, yum! So we didn’t have anytime to go shopping and I didn’t know we would need our passports to cross the border now either (here’s a pic of the fence.)
I guess they changed the entry rules this year? Sorry I have no fun shopping to tell you all about but next time we go down, I definitely plan on fitting some into our schedule. Hope you all had great weekends!

So this pesky cold is still hanging around me. Annoying. And we’re leaving tomorrow morning to go to Nogales for the weekend. It’s a border town between Arizona and Mexico where many of my husband’s relatives live. I am so excited to get to know this side of his family better but I only wish I wasn’t stuffy headed and scratchy throated! Maybe some homemade Mexican food will cure me (if only I could have a margarita too!) I’m going to try to fit in a little thrift shopping while I’m down there so I hope to have lots of pics and stories to share when I get back on Monday. Thanks for hanging in there with me this week everyone. Have a fab weekend!

And I can’t! Ugh. I have a stupid head cold and I feel miserable. And since I am 4 months pregnant, I can only take Tylenol or Benadryl (they are approved by doctors as safe). Both of which don’t do much to stop the “nighttime, sniffling, sneezing, aching, coughing, stuffy-head, fever, so you can rest medicine” blues I am experiencing like Nyquil can. I seriously love that stuff. The Benadryl relieved my stuffy nose for a few hours and knocked me out a little last night so it was at least something. But I’ve been a complete bum for the past two days and it’s making me a whiner now. Anyway, I just needed to vent! Back to bed for me.

Sorry I’ve been a little absent this week. It’s been super busy at our house. We’re getting set for a garage sale this Saturday morning and man, it is a lot of work! We’ve been sorting through all our closets, garage and storage, pricing items, and then loading up the car to make trips to my parent’s house 20 minutes away since the sale will be there. I’m exhausted! But it will all be worth it since this process will clear some much needed space for the loads of baby stuff we will accumulate over the next few months! Anyway, just wanted to let you know what was up with me. I’m working on a review of the awesome Pregnancy Gift Box that Belli Cosmetics sent me a few weeks ago. Look for it tomorrow!

My good friend Mike over at the blog, A Mike Life, tagged me to answer a few questions about my media habits and I’m happy to share them with you. Thanks for the tag Mike and by the way, Happy Birthday!
I grew up a total bookworm and devour books like candy. Recently, I finished Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez and Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. I’m now reading the extremely long but very classic Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. I adore classics and period novels so I am definitely in my element with this one!
I am also a big TV addict and have to watch myself or I will have a serious problem. And I am ecstatic that the writer’s strike is resolved so I can still have a few episodes of The Office, Ugly Betty and Gossip Girl to look forward to this spring! Right now I am watching Lost like a madwoman. I am a Lost nerd and research all these theories and island mysteries like I am a scientist or something. I also watch Project Runway, Stephen Colbert and The Young and the Restless regularly.
My favorite category. I thrive on music, it is a huge part of my life. My husband and I actually met in high school band (yep band nerds) and he even got his degree in music. He’s an amazing percussionist! My house growing up was filled with music and my mom and I still get together and dance in the living room for fun sometimes! Right now I am listening to the new Jack Johnson album, Sleep Through the Static, The Killers B-side album, Sawdust, and David Crowder Band’s Remedy. Throw in a little Bloc Party, Cake, Jimmy Eat World and yes, Justin Timberlake and I’m all set! In our home, we listen to everything from jazz to latin to hip hop to ska. We love it all (except country of course!)
Okay, now to tag a few of you! Shop With a Vengeance, MonkeyPosh, and Ceci n’est pas une blog– you’re it!

This week is featuring the color lemon yellow in honor of my pregnant fixation with lemonade. I’m typically a huge Diet Coke and coffee drinker and for some reason they both taste like garbage to me now. I guess it’s a good thing to break my serious caffeine addiction, so now all I want to drink is lemonade and water and lots of it! Anyway, hope you enjoy the picks!
